Last night it started to rain. We went to bed fairly early because Morgan had a field trip to go on and they had to leave at 6am this morning. At some point in the night, the rain turned to snow. Daniel turned up around 2:15am. He didn’t want to fall asleep and not be [...]

I ran out of hours in the day… I didin’t get to the fun of Thursday. We got Morgan off to school and I started to get ready for the day. Spike, Daniel’s dog, went tearing into the house and scared the kitten, 5. 5 ran and Spike gave chase. He caught the kitten and [...]

We had the first snow on the peaks about a week ago. Brrrr!!!!
It had been rainy and cold in town, but when the clouds moved off, there was the snow. It made me a bit nervous as we were due to go up into the Upper Huerfano to pick rosehips and such the next day. [...]

It has been a busy month! I finally had enough of a break in classes to go hiking with my Dad and Dan. Wheee!!! We headed up to Apishipa Pass. Of course, it was rainy! In fact, it got worse. Dan and Dad hiked down one trail and I took a shorter hike up to [...]

It has been busy in other ways around here. The Monsoon season kicked in early and is still going strong. I think we have had more rain storms than we did snow storms last winter. Nice, but frustrating when you try to dry laundry.
I’ve been working hard this last month on my math and english [...]

Dad finally sent pictures of his trips.
This is Dan up on the first hike. They were looking around for signs of the old Spanish Fort. They later found a spot that they think might have been a lookout post.

I’m not sure whether to giggle or not. My dad has been feeling the urge to go hiking now that the weather is nice and warm. Walks around the lake and Lathrop park have been nice, but not enough. So, as Dad is 72.5, he’s decided that the ideal thing is to have a hiking [...]

Bryan and Stefan sent me pictures!!! I have a bunch, but will upload the best.
Talon sleeping on Katie’s chest.
It was really cool to have all the pictures when I got back this morning from paying bills. I did the happy Nana bounce as quietly as I could, because Dan woke up with a sinus headache. [...]

Yesterday, we’d had enough. After the marathon of phonecalls over the new baby, we just couldn’t cope with the phone. So, when lunchtime came around, Dan and I grabbed waterbottles, apples. pen and paper. Off we went to Lathrop Park. It’s only 3 miles down the road, and we have a park pass. So, we [...]

Katie, Bryan’s SO keeps going into labor. She isn’t due till later in the month, but apparently, this baby really wants to arrive. Like last week. They live in Searcy, AR, which makes it difficult to deal with the whole long distance Nana thing. They live next door to Stefan, so I have a cluster [...]
